Call Me…. Maybe?

I’ve been building puppets for about two years and seldom do I perform with them other than chasing the kids around the house. After goofing-off with my kids pretending to sing songs from various artist, I decided to create this video based on Carly Rae Jepsen’s pop song Call Me Maybe. Below is the final edited piece.

Walking and singing down the hallway proved to be tricky to shoot live. Instead, I shot Rosie on a green screen and composited her onto a separate background plate.

After the video was edited I decided to try my luck at removing the arm rods using Photoshop. It took a bit of time but I managed to do a reasonable  job on most of the shots. Some shots I just skipped do to time constraints, but most of them have the rod removed. Here’s two sample “before and after” frames:

Hobbs the Goblin: Part One

Working on a new puppet build. His name is Hobbs and he’s a goblin. Not quite sure if he is friendly or not… we’ll just have to wait until the build is complete.

Hobbs is covered in an antron fleece which was purchased from the great folks at Dewey Street.
