This is the first image in what would be a ongoing theme for my holiday cards. It is evident by the obvious layout and title that I am a huge fan of Norman Rockewell’s paintings. I tried to capture the same feeling of his paintings in this image. Little did I know at the time…
The following is a series of images inspired by the paintings of Norman Rockwell. The subjects were photographed against a white, vinyl backdrop which aided in the extraction process. The subjects are then places onto a solid white background and the shadows are painted back in where needed.
Here’s a sample of various portraits I’ve shot over the years. The one thing all these photos have in common is they were all illuminated using small portable Nikon flash units: SB-900 and SB-700.
